A Day at Lovango Bay (and Why I Can’t Wait to Go Back)

Some places just stay with you—and Lovango Bay is one of them.

The first time I went, it wasn’t even fully finished yet. My sister-in-law brought us over while it was still under construction, and even then, you could tell it was going to be something special.

Fast forward to now, and it’s exactly that.

Getting There Feels Like the Start of Something

A quick boat ride from St. John and you arrive somewhere that instantly feels different.

It’s calm, it’s beautiful, and there’s this effortless energy that makes you slow down without even thinking about it.

A Full Day at the Pool

We spent the day at the pool with my niece, and it ended up being one of those days you wish you could bottle up.

Easy, happy, no agenda.

She was in and out of the water all day, and we just settled into that rhythm of vacation—lounging, swimming, ordering drinks, repeating. The kind of day where no one is checking the time.

What Makes Lovango So Special

It’s hard to explain, but Lovango has this balance that’s rare.

It’s elevated, but not in a way that feels intimidating. Everything is thoughtfully designed, but still relaxed and welcoming. You feel like you’re somewhere special—but also completely comfortable.

Even back when it was still being built, you could feel that vision. Now that it’s finished, it really delivers.

The Vibe

It’s the kind of place where:

  • You stay longer than you planned
  • One drink turns into two (or three)
  • Lunch becomes an afternoon

And no one wants to leave.

The edit for this trip.

Lovango is one of those places where you want to feel effortless—but still a little elevated. Think beachy, but pulled together.

Here’s exactly what I’d wear:

  • An LSPACE bikini in the season’s color—right now I’m loving a rich chocolate brown. It feels neutral but still chic and different from the usual black.
  • mesh beach coverup or a caftan—something light, a little sheer, easy to throw on but still makes a statement.
  • My MAISON IREM chunky necklace—I love pieces with turquoise or natural stones. It instantly elevates a simple swimsuit look.
  • The Amaya handwoven raffia tote—big enough for everything, but still beautiful.
  • Sam Edelman Bay Jelly sandals in tortoise—comfortable, easy, and they go with everything.
  • And of course, Ray-Bans + tons of sunscreen (non-negotiable).

It’s that mix of relaxed and intentional that just works here.
